Gülay Hacer Toruk and Aliocha Régnard come together in a new project that brings together the paths of the West and the medieval East.<p> Longtime collaborators Gülay Hacer Toruk and Aliocha Régnard have reunited for a new project that brings together the poles and paths of the medieval West and East through the figure of the itinerant poet-musician. In this way, the poetry of the Asik bards of the East (Turkey, Armenia, Central Asia) engages in dialogue with that of the troubadours of the West, as well as with the contemporary poetry of these two musicians who give voice to it.</p><p> Gülay Hacer Toruk sings and unfolds her voice, drawing inspiration from the diverse voices of her native Turkey. Her numerous musical projects and forays into related artistic disciplines lead her to perform regularly at festivals in France and abroad. Alongside her stage work, she shares Turkish songs at the Philharmonie de Paris and in masterclasses.</p><p> Aliocha Regnard, a violinist by training, turned to improvised music at a very early age. He composes and forges a unique musical universe, drawing his inspiration from the heart of ancient music from both East and West. Passionate about the relationship between music and movement, he composes and performs music for various dance, juggling, and street theatre performances (Kabal, Bamboo Theatre, Chan Company, etc.).</p>
