The tragedy of Oedipus's children. After King Oedipus's exile, his descendants fought amongst themselves for the throne of Thebes. His sons, Eteocles and Polynices, clashed for power and both died. But while Creon, Jocasta's brother and the new king of Thebes, granted Eteocles funeral honors, he forbade Polynices from being buried.<br> Antigone, Creon's niece, rebels against this decision, and decides to respect divine law and bury Polynices, at the risk of her own death.
