With only his passport as a tangible reminder of his past, he embarks on a long and arduous quest to obtain a residency permit, surrounded by fellow sufferers. "Generally speaking, I never want to write about a theme, but rather base my work on a specific idea or situation, which then gives rise to the structure of the play. I wrote this new play in Guadeloupe, alone, after developing its outlines for over a year and doing extensive research. It's not political or documentary theatre, but a human story that speaks to everyone," explains Alexis Michalik.
